Artist Talk
Ditching the Studio explores the risks, challenges, failures, and unexpected rewards of transforming architecture into large-scale works of art. Rafael Blanco’s talk is about changing direction, taking creative risks, and discovering what can happen when an artist leaves the comfort of the studio and takes art directly to the people.

Workshop
Spanish muralists Jokin Sortwo & Lara Hurtado love to involve local flair to their large scale creation. Join the collaboration by attending their workshop Community Collage. Participants will create a piece that gets incorporated into their mural on the west facing wall of 2290 E. William St. All supplies will be provided.

Mural Walking Tours
Follow a guided walking tour with festival organizer Eric Brooks (Visit Carson City’s Arts and Culture Program Manager) to learn more about the muralists and the process of placing public art. Tours leave at 10:30am and 4pm and will last approximately 90 minutes. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle

Film Screening
Carson City Classic Cinema Collective hosts a free screening of Exit Through the Gift Shop: A Banksy Film.
This 2010 British documentary was filmed and directed by legendary street artist Banksy. It tells the story of Thierry Guetta, a French immigrant in Los Angeles, and his obsession with street art.
