SUMMARY:Unlock Your Inner Artist with Dana Childs | 4 Week Series | Wednesdays | Beginning March 4th 2026
DESCRIPTION:Create your own masterpieces in this open-ended art experience. If you’ve ever dreamed of working on an artistic project—whether it’s painting\, graphite\, pen and ink\, or even incorporating two- and three-dimensional textures or objects into your work of art—this is the workshop for you. This is a series of 4 workshops to give you the time and space to create your vision.\n\nOver the course of the past nearly 30 years\, Dana Childs has guided\, taught\, and facilitated courses and workshops that have helped produce professional artists as well as encouraged hobbyists to have the time of their lives and enjoy feeling successful. You can free the artist within you with as much or as little influence from outside as you desire. Weekly demonstrations serve to introduce or review basic art and design concepts\, as well as experimental strategies. You can either follow along or continue to work on your own project during the demonstrations. Most of the time will be dedicated to individual time to work on your own projects\, while Childs is there to offer assistance as needed.\n\nAbout the Artist\n\n“Variety is the spice of life!” declares the educationally eclectic Childs.  She has been driven by an inexhaustible desire to learn\, and then to pass on that which she learns to others.  “One of my greatest passions in life is to either keep the flame of our innate love for learning alive\, or to reignite this flame in the hearts of those whose flames have dwindled\, or been completely dowsed\,” says Childs.  Whatever the subject matter\, she remains enthusiastic about sharing information & helping others build skills that will serve them and others well. \nWith 20+ years experience teaching watercolor as well as graphite and acrylic mediums\, Childs brings an in-depth understanding of how to connect with her students and pass on skills that empower her students to create to their hearts desire\, with amazing results.  “My job\, if I do it well\, is to work myself out of a job\,” she says. \nDo you have questions? SUMMARY:Edges of Impermanence Artist Reception | Friday | March 13th 2026 | FREE
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Dates:  February 4th thru April 26th 2026\, Tuesdays thru Sundays 12 to 4pm \nFeaturing the work of Ashley Gottlieb\, Tamara Scronce\, and Rossitza Todorova \nReflecting on the quiet truth that nothing—within us or around us—stays the same. Drawn from observation\, self reflection\, memories\, shifting light\, and slow transformations\, these works consider impermanence not as loss but as a continual unfolding. Mountains rise and erode\, seasons cycle\, water carves its own path; emotions appear\, dissolve\, and return in new forms. By attending to these transitory states\, the work asks how we hold what is fleeting\, and what it means to witness change across both a moment and a lifetime. \nBAC Members are invited to attend at 5pm for a special private viewing.

SUMMARY:Learn to Make Sgraffito Pots with Kym Maehl | Tuesday | March 24th 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join pottery artist\, Kym Maehl\, in this fabulous & creative class! \nIn this class\, we’ll begin by  making a clay pinch pot cup or bowl.  We’ll then get creative with underglaze and sgraffito. \nSgraffito is a decorating technique in which a coat of a colored slip or underglaze is painted onto a your vessel\, after which designs are carved into the surface in order to reveal the contrasting color of the clay.  The example provided is only one possibility.  Your imagination will make it your own.  I will be putting a clear glaze on them after they’re bisque fired so that they are ready to use when you pick them up. \nThis is a great class for all levels of experience.

DESCRIPTION:From hand-drawn satire to cyberpunk philosophy\, Ghosts in the Frames: Anime’s Journey explores how Japanese animation evolved into one of the most influential cinematic art forms in the world. SUMMARY:Loud As Folk Presents: Joey Cape From Lagwagon
DESCRIPTION:Purchase your tickets here! \nLoud As Folk began as a monthly songwriters showcase based out of Reno\, NV in 2011 and has since grown into a touring revue\, a recording studio\, a radio hour\, and a creative movement. The series has featured an eclectic mix of punk-gone-folk performers\, underground legends\, and fiercely original voices.Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Seating will open at 6:30 with music beginning at 7pm. Seated show. All ages.  \nBecome a member of the Brewery Arts Center and save $5 on your ticket! Join Today! \nJoey Cape is one of the defining voices in punk rock’s most beloved generation. Since forming Lagwagon in 1989\, “the Caper” and his band have released 9 LPs\, 4 EPs\, a live album\, and a compilation of previously unreleased material all while playing thousands of shows across the globe. This remarkable amount of accomplishments is just a fraction of Joey’s expansive career\, which also includes lending his musical talents to Bad Astronaut and Me First And The Gimmie Gimmies. If all of that wasn’t enough\, the ever prolific Cape has released 6 solo albums since 2008 along with a slew of splits and singles. In addition to his own music\, Joey has featured an impressive lists of rising punk gone folk artists by inviting them to record 10 songs in 7 days at his personal studio and releasing them on his label One Week Records. \nOpening the show is Seth Anderson\, a singer-songwriter whose music blends indie rock\, folk\, and the spirit of punk into honest\, heart-driven storytelling. Born and raised in Hartland\, New Brunswick\, and now based in Canmore\, Alberta\, Seth draws from years on the road—across towns\, cities\, and continents—to write songs rooted in love\, loss\, resilience\, and hope. With a delivery that’s both vulnerable and fierce\, his sound has been compared to Steve Earle\, AA Bondy\, Frank Turner\, and the Weakerthans. Seth’s live shows are known for their emotional intensity and raw authenticity\, earning him a dedicated following throughout Canada\, the U.S.\, and Europe. \nPurchase your tickets here!
