SUMMARY:Loud As Folk presents: Leroy Virgil with Opener Jade Brodie | Saturday | December 20th 2025
DESCRIPTION:Loud As Folk began as a monthly songwriters showcase based out of Reno\, NV in 2011 and has since grown into a touring revue\, a recording studio\, a radio hour\, and a creative movement.\nTickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Seating will open at 6:30 with music beginning at 7pm.\n\nBecome a member of the Brewery Arts Center and save $5 on your ticket! Join Today!\n\nLeroy Virgil has been playing music that is honest and raw since 2004. There is none of the modern pop slickness that passes for country these days. Virgil’s music is as real as the grime and grit on old abandoned buildings in small towns like Reno NV\, Butte MT\, Aberdeen WA\, and Woodland CA. “Basically I set out to write simple country songs in a simple language about my life and the lives of my scumbag friends and that is something you can’t get away with anymore in Nashville” says Leroy Virgil.\nVirgil’s band Hellbound Glory has clocked thousands of mile on the road playing dive bars and honky tonks across the country and abroad. The humor inherent in Leroy’s life on the edge mindset shines through the bleakness with passionate full-throttle delivery. His rowdy style meshes the best of country’s past with the freewheeling abandon of the present day.\n\nJade Brodie is a Railroading songstress from northern Nevada. Drawing inspiration from the Blue Collar Hero and the away-frome-home lifestyle of the railroad. She writes her songs with a heavy train beat\, strong will\, and simple poetry.

SUMMARY:Loud As Folk presents: The Sam Chase & Willy Tea Taylor | Saturday | February 21st 2026
DESCRIPTION:Loud As Folk began as a monthly songwriters showcase based out of Reno\, NV in 2011 and has since grown into a touring revue\, a recording studio\, a radio hour\, and a creative movement. The series has featured an eclectic mix of punk-gone-folk performers\, underground legends\, and fiercely original voices. \nTickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Seating will open at 6:30 with music beginning at 7pm. Seated show. All ages.  \nBecome a member of the Brewery Arts Center and save $5 on your ticket! Join Today!\n\n\nWilly Tea Taylor –\nThere is no question that Willy Tea Taylor’s life as a singer/songwriter was predetermined – his role realized the moment he wrote his first song. His inspirations are drawn from two separate wells; Living the life of a cattleman’s kid and experiencing true visionaries music like Greg Brown\, John Hartford\, and Guy Clark. The image of Guy Clark and friends sitting around the kitchen table loaded with ashtrays full of butts\, half-smoked cigarettes\, food\, and booze on one Christmas Eve in 1975 burned into Taylor’s soul. Those guys\, swapping songs without pretense\, lit Willy Tea’s fire. And ever since\, its led purpose with passion – finding a hang by curating relationships through musical friendships that get him closer to his own Clark style kitchen table.\n\n\nThe Sam Chase –\nIf one could apply a needle to the flat disc of time and render a sound from its infinite grooves\, the celestial tones of past\, present and future would be the songs of The Sam Chase.  It doesn’t matter where they are from\, where they’ve been or where they may yet go.  All that matters is where you will be when they show how to make time stand still.

Since forming Lagwagon in 1989\, “the Caper” and his band have released 9 LPs\, 4 EPs\, a live album\, and a compilation of previously unreleased material all while playing thousands of shows across the globe. This remarkable amount of accomplishments is just a fraction of Joey’s expansive career\, which also includes lending his musical talents to Bad Astronaut and Me First And The Gimmie Gimmies. If all of that wasn’t enough\, the ever prolific Cape has released 6 solo albums since 2008 along with a slew of splits and singles. In addition to his own music\, Joey has featured an impressive lists of rising punk gone folk artists by inviting them to record 10 songs in 7 days at his personal studio and releasing them on his label One Week Records. \nOpening the show is Seth Anderson\, a singer-songwriter whose music blends indie rock\, folk\, and the spirit of punk into honest\, heart-driven storytelling. Born and raised in Hartland\, New Brunswick\, and now based in Canmore\, Alberta\, Seth draws from years on the road—across towns\, cities\, and continents—to write songs rooted in love\, loss\, resilience\, and hope. With a delivery that’s both vulnerable and fierce\, his sound has been compared to Steve Earle\, AA Bondy\, Frank Turner\, and the Weakerthans. Seth’s live shows are known for their emotional intensity and raw authenticity\, earning him a dedicated following throughout Canada\, the U.S.\, and Europe. \nPurchase your tickets here!

SUMMARY:Loud As Folk presents: Charlie Parr | Friday | April 3rd 2026
DESCRIPTION:Loud As Folk began as a monthly songwriters showcase based out of Reno\, NV in 2011 and has since grown into a touring revue\, a recording studio\, a radio hour\, and a creative movement. The series has featured an eclectic mix of punk-gone-folk performers\, underground legends\, and fiercely original voices. \nTickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Seating will open at 6:30 with music beginning at 7pm. \nBecome a member of the Brewery Arts Center and save $5 on your ticket! Join Today! \nIn the music of Charlie Parr\, there is a sincere conviction and earnest drive to create. The Minnesota-born guitarist\, songwriter\, and interpreter of traditional music has released 19 albums over two decades and has been known to perform up to 275 shows a year. Parr is a folk troubadour in the truest sense: taking to the road between shows\, writing and rewriting songs as he plays\, fueled by a belief that music is eternal and cannot be claimed or adequately explained. The bluesman poet pulls closely from the sights and sounds around him\, his lyrical craftsmanship built by his influences. The sounds from his working-class upbringing—including Folkways legends such as Lead Belly and Woody Guthrie—imbue Parr’s music with stylistic echoes of blues and folk icons of decades past. Parr sees himself merely as a continuer of a folk tradition: “I feel like I stand on a lot of big shoulders\,” he said in an interview. “I hope that I’ve brought a little bit of myself to the music.”
