DESCRIPTION:Presented Toiyabe Chamber Music Society as a FREE event. \nViolinists Laurentiu Norocel and Claire Tatman collaborate with Reno’s own master violin maker\, Tim Dodd\, in a reprise their August 2023 event. A combination concert and informal discussion will take place as well as a demonstration of the “anatomy” and function of violins. This concert will feature violin solos and duets played by the artists using violins made by Mr. Dodd. \nIn between performances by Mr. Norocel and Ms. Tatman showcasing different styles of violin music\, Mr. Dodd will describe the construction of a violin and how a violin produces sound illustrated with “deconstructed violins” and violin parts. \n

Mike’s love for family\, community\, music\, and arts has inspired him to do amazing work bringing together our local artistic community. The majority agree\, few have done as much to strengthen and further our local music scene than Mike Epps.\n\nAfter complications from an initial surgery to remove stage 3 esophageal cancer\, Mike had to be rushed to an emergency surgery February 2\, 2024 and has been in the Intensive Care Unit on a ventilator since. Friday March 15th features Doug Sandall & Dale Poune with opening act Catesby Jones.\n\nDoug Sandall & Dale Poune have been writing and performing songs together for over 3 years. Doug Sandall has gained recognition for his mastery of the Harmonica\, and can be easily identified by his hand made leather harmonica belt. Dale Poune (guitar\, mandolin and dobro) is a veteran musician who performs with  Lacy J. Dalton\, Paulette Carlson\, and The Fortunes. Together\, they give audiences colorful stories\, humor\, and original songs\, quickly becoming crowd favorites anywhere they go. \n\n\nCatesby Jones has the rich and wild past of a true american folk legend\, bouncing around the country and taking a part in some of the most influential music scenes in America\, starting in Greenwich Village. When he moved to Nashville Catesby signed an exclusive writer’s contract with a small independent publisher quickly scoring his first cut\, “She Don’t Love Here Anymore” with Josh Logan.  This was followed by the multi-platinum hit\, “Country Club” with Travis Tritt. Based out of Nashville\, Tennessee\, the 22-year-old’s powerful and heart-wrenching voice welcomes listeners of all kinds to be grateful and self-reflective. Addison has shared the stage with artists such as Bob Seger\, The Band Joseph\, Gordon Lightfoot\, Brandy Clark\, Liz Longley and May Erlewine while performing at top venues/events including The Winter Jam Tour\, The Philadelphia Folk Festival\, Nashville’s Famous Bluebird Cafe\, The Ark and Caffe Lena.
