SUMMARY:Wicked Tinkers | FREE | Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series | Saturday | August 10th 2024
DESCRIPTION:Since 1995 the Wicked Tinkers have been playing ancient rhythms and forgotten sounds. Their music isn’t typical pipe band fare. They have reimagined the music for the twenty-first century. They aim to create a sound that is both “ancient and hauntingly familiar” with use of bagpipes\, tribal drums\, didgeridoos\, a Bronze-Age Irish horn paired with a modern\, rock-and-roll energy; their music will transport you back in time and get an audience of their feet with a raw\, primal\, and exciting sound. The Wicked Tinkers pioneered the Tribal Celtic sound now played by several other Scottish bands around the globe. The band is beloved by kids from 1 – 100 and every show is different as they never follow a script. Come experience the Tribal Celtic sound of the Wicked Tinkers and join the party! \nWatch On Youtube \nOpening Act: John Underwood \nArtist Sponsor: Armac Construction \nPresenting Sponsor: Connections Central \nLawn Sponsor: Kilpatrick Bullentini Law \nStage Sponsor: PBS Reno \nHotel Sponsor: Hampton Inn \nGreenroom Sponsor: Mangia Tutto \nThe Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series is supported in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation\, which partners with changemakers and nonprofits across the country to activate underused outdoor spaces through the power of free\, live music—bringing people together\, fostering belonging\, and invigorating community life. Some of their most notable film contributions include music and or performances in “Six String Samurai”\, “Mail Order Bride”\, “Armageddon”\, “Skippy”\,  “Melrose Place”\, “Fastlane”\, “Penn and Teller’s Sin City Extravaganza”\, “VH-1 Behind the Music”\, and “MTV”. Red Elvises have performed for large festivals\, private parties\, and played on massive stages such as 2005’s Live 8 Benefit Concert.
