This screening traces anime’s roots in early 20th-century animation and follows its transformation into a medium capable of tackling identity\, technology\, and the nature of humanity itself. \nWe’ll begin with The Dull Sword (Namakura Gatana) (1917)\, a pioneering and playful silent short that showcases the early visual language and humor of Japanese animation.
