SUMMARY:PPI presents: Arsenic & Old Lace | Friday | October 17th 2025
DESCRIPTION:Proscenium Players is proud to present the first show of our 60th anniversary season\n\n\n𝐀𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄\n𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐊𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠\nDirected by Amelia Gotham\n\n\nIn Joseph Kesselring’s classic dark comedy “Arsenic and Old Lace\,” we are introduced to Mortimer Brewster\, a theater critic who stumbles upon a chilling revelation: his endearing aunts\, Abby and Martha\, have been engaging in acts of mercy by poisoning lonely elderly men. This shocking discovery thrusts Mortimer into a chaotic struggle to shield his charming yet misguided aunts from the law\, all while navigating the eccentricities of his family\, including the menacing criminal Jonathan and Teddy\, who fervently believes he is former President Theodore Roosevelt.\n\n\nThe play’s farcical elements are brilliantly accentuated through Mortimer’s comedic encounters with an inept police department and his persistently oblivious fiancé\, whose refusal to be sidelined adds to the comedic tumult. Kesselring artfully weaves slapstick humor with an underlying suspense\, delving into themes of insanity\, familial loyalty\, and the absurdity of existence. With its array of colorful characters\, unexpected twists\, and sharp dialogue\, “Arsenic and Old Lace” has secured its status as a beloved cornerstone of American theater\, continually captivating audiences with its delightful blend of humor and chaos.

SUMMARY:Mark Twain Days | Mark Twain and Julia Bulette: Together Again | Friday | October 17th 2025
DESCRIPTION:Samuel Langhorne Clemens\, known by the pen name Mark Twain\, was an American writer\, humorist\, and essayist. Clemens was praised as the greatest humorist the United States has produced\, with William Faulkner calling him “the father of American literature”. Twain’s novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer\, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn\, as well as Roughing It.\n\nAfter thirty-five years of school lectures and performances across the globe\, McAvoy Layne retired from performing as Mark Twain in 2023\, however he continues to find reasons to dust off the white suit for a good cause and a good time.\n\nJulia C. Bulette was perhaps Virginia City’s most infamous “working girl”\, as well as a cherished member of Virginia Company #1’s volunteer fire department. In her own words\, Julia will share with her audience\, a world so often misunderstood\, with dignity and insight. She will tell of her most exciting life in which she was welcomed at society venues such as Maguire’s Opera House\, yet shunned on the street by the local women citizens. And\, she will recount her scandalous murder and what became of the man blamed for it.\n\nKim Harris is an accomplished Chautauquan who has portrayed living history characters at various venues including Genoa Western Heritage Days\, Pipers Opera House\, the Gold Hill Hotel\, the Odeon Saloon\, Dangberg Historic Park and The Lake Tahoe Chautauqua Festival. Harris currently serves as Events and Education Manager at Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park in Minden\, NV\, and is the owner and operator of Western History ALIVE! where she portrays several Chautauqua characters including Calamity Jane\, Lizzie Borden and Libbie Bacon Custer.\n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Mark Twain Days | Tin Drum Family Band | Nashville Social Club | Friday | October 17th 2025
DESCRIPTION:From international tours and Grammy nominations to a surprise lockdown in their family home — the Tin Drum Family Band was born out of a moment no one saw coming. When Covid struck\, music legends Burleigh Sr.\, Mary Harris\, and their children Sierra and Burleigh Jr. unexpectedly found themselves under one roof for over two years. What started as a family wedding turned into the creation of something profound: a band\, an album\, and a legacy. \nOut of love\, loss\, and deep connection came “Emerson Street” — an album filled with heart\, harmony\, and healing\, named after the home that held it all together. ❤️🏡🎶 \n🌟 Meet the Band: 🌟 \n🪘 Burleigh Drummond Sr.A founding member of Ambrosia (5 Grammy noms\, 5 Top Ten singles)\, Burleigh has toured\, recorded\, and produced with artists like Alan Parsons\, Michael McDonald\, Edgar Winter\, Al Stewart\, Firefall\, Player\, and more. He’s a master drummer\, composer\, and engineer — but his favorite gig? Playing with his wife\, daughter\, and son in Tin Drum Family Band. 🥁🎤 \n🎹 Mary HarrisA powerhouse vocalist\, arranger\, and keyboardist\, Mary has lent her talents to Pink Floyd\, Jimmy Buffett\, Carole King\, Michael McDonald\, Animal Logic (with Stewart Copeland and Stanley Clarke)\, and many more. As co-creator of Tin Drum (with three albums under their belt)\, she’s also helped shape generations of young musicians — including her own kids. 💫🎹 \n🎙️ Sierra R. DrummondSinger-songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, and lyrical soul. With influences like Tracy Chapman\, Bonnie Raitt\, Lauryn Hill\, and her own musical parents\, Sierra blends indie folk\, R&B\, and blues into an authentic\, emotional sound. After a long recovery from a vocal injury\, she’s back — and her voice has never been stronger. 🧡🎸🎤 \n🌍 Burleigh M. Drummond Jr.A globally inspired drummer\, multi-instrumentalist\, and producer\, Burleigh Jr. brings rhythm from around the world — India\, Africa\, Latin America — to the front porch of American roots music. He’s toured\, recorded\, and studied extensively\, but his most meaningful work comes from collaborating with his family and sharing music that connects us all. 🥁🌎🎶 \nAlso featuring musical guests David Harris\, John Wood\, Marc Bonilla\, and Devon Geyer\, the Tin Drum Family Band is more than a band — it’s a living\, breathing\, musical memoir. \n🎤 Come experience the joy\, the heartbreak\, and the magic of Emerson Street — live! \n✨ A night of original music\, rich harmonies\, and deep family roots.
