SUMMARY:Murals & Music Festival | C5 presents: Exit Through the Gift Shop | FREE | Saturday | September 19th 2026
DESCRIPTION:Exit Through the Gift Shop is a 2010 British documentary film directed by street artist Banksy. It tells the story of Thierry Guetta\, a French immigrant in Los Angeles who\, over several years\, filmed a host of street artists at work\, including Shepard Fairey and Banksy\, but failed to do anything with the footage. Eventually\, Banksy decided to use the footage to make a documentary\, which includes new footage depicting Guetta’s rise to fame as the artist “Mr. Brainwash”. In addition to narration read by Rhys Ifans\, the story is largely related by Banksy himself\, whose face is obscured and voice altered to preserve his anonymity. Geoff Barrow composed the film’s score\, and Richard Hawley’s “Tonight The Streets Are Ours” plays during the opening and closing credits. The film premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival on 24 January 2010\, and was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 83rd Academy Awards. \nSince its release\, there has been extensive debate over whether the film is a genuine documentary or a mockumentary. When asked if the film was real\, Banksy simply replied\, “Yes.”

SUMMARY:Murals & Music Festival | Loud as Folk presents: Taylor Kingman | Friday | September 18th 2026
DESCRIPTION:Buy Tickets! \nLoud As Folk began as a monthly songwriters showcase based out of Reno\, NV in 2011 and has since grown into a touring revue\, a recording studio\, a radio hour\, and a creative movement. The series has featured an eclectic mix of punk-gone-folk performers\, underground legends\, and fiercely original voices. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Seating will open at 6:30 with music beginning at 7pm. Seated show. All ages. Online ticket sales end at 5:30.  \nBecome a member of the Brewery Arts Center and save $5 on your ticket! Join Today! \nAbout Taylor Kingman:\nBetween his work fronting TK & The Holy Know-Nothings and his 2017 solo debut Wannabe\, Kingman is no stranger to the darkness. But here he transcends the desolate rock bottom\, as Hollow Sound whispers\, then howls us into that place beyond brokenness where breathing begins again. To listen deeply to these songs is to lay down naked on the wet\, unforgiving earth\, pushing the ground through your fingers; it is to be soothed by the wholeness of who we are\, filth and all. Kingman pulls no punches with his writing\, and requires us to listen with the same honesty. \nAbout Stoneteeth:\nMike Clark is a singer songwriter from Colorado and Cole Halvorsen is an audio engineer and musician from Nevada. Together they form Stoneteeth which is a voice from the bottom\, the gutter\, the last penny in your pocket\, the drunk sleeping at the end of the bar full of wisdom and cheap whiskey that you write off until they wake up and rain on your parade.

SUMMARY:Musicale @ The Maizie | Joe Kaplow | Greg Gilmore | Friday | September 27th 2024
DESCRIPTION:Headliner Joe Kaplow’s music comes from life’s moments — smelling 4 acres of freshly cut  grass\, watching the steam from a horse’s breath in the early morning\,  finally holding the neck of a guitar after holding bridles and worn wooden handles all day. 4000 acres of freshly burnt wildfire\, watching the steam from the Pacific Ocean’s breath in the early morning\, finally holding the neck of a guitar after clutching the worn steering wheel of a tour van all day. Joe’s aim is simple; slow  and steady; keep it fun\, and stay engaged. All for the moment when the song  finally sounds right.\n\nOpening act Greg Gilmore is a bit like a caption of a time gone\, but not forgotten. A self-taught\, nationally touring troubadour bearing a self-lit torch informed by the rock’n’roll and songwriting days of yore. With influences from Dylan to Willie\, Petty to Orbison\, Gilmore attempts to apply his own kindling to a smoldering flame. While he would never utter it himself\, some have called Gilmore the Earnest Hemingway of songwriting. Not because of his keen sense of prose\, rather you can generally spot him with a pen in one hand and a drink in the other.\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 | Show begins at 7pm | Arrive through the Artisan Gallery entrance of the Brewery building | All Ages Welcomed
