Accepted artwork will need to be dropped at The Brewery Arts Center Exhibition Hall between Friday\, December 27 – 29\nbetween 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. Other arrangements may be possible by contacting the email above.\nThe exhibition will run January 2 – March 30. SUMMARY:Learning to be Lost | Exhibition by Rossitza Todorova | October 3rd thru December 31st 2024
DESCRIPTION:The series “Learning to be Lost” is an introspective journey that embraces the vastness of the desert landscape as a metaphor for navigating uncertainty. Drawing inspiration from desert survival strategies and illusory mirages\, I seek to evoke a visceral experience of being lost.” \nRossitza Todorova is a professional artist and a Professor of Art at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno\, Nevada. Todorova holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts\, School of Art at Arizona State University\, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nevada\, Reno. \nAs a child\, Todorova emigrated from Sofia\, Bulgaria\, to the Western United States\, where her passion for the desert was ignited. A multidisciplinary visual artist\, she draws on the influence of the Great Basin and the West’s boom-and-bust built environment. Todorova’s work often uses landscape and geometry\, occupying a space between representation and abstraction as she strives to create visual movement. \nExhibition Dates:  October 3rd thru December 31st 2024 \nArtist Reception:  Friday\, November 8th\, 5 to 7 pm.

DESCRIPTION:Join the fun in this fabulous & creative class! \nThis is a great class for all levels of clay and jewelry making fun!  It’s also a wonderful way to focus on what makes you hopeful while creating some unique & wearable art.  In this class\, we will be making four bracelets\, one with a premade “Hope” focal and three with your own creative design and flair.  The focals will be transformed into bracelets with stretch cord for flexible sizing and easy on and off. \nYou’ll get the “Hope” bracelet and extra stretch cord the night of the class AND the other three focals once they’ve been fired. \nCost:     $50 to register + $10 to instructor for supplies \nTuition includes wine/beverage.

DESCRIPTION:Bryce Chisholm is a blue collar\, home town boy whose dynamic work has the street savvy and appeal of outsider art. Chisholm’s creative methodical approach to process\,\nbold splashes (and drips) of color on all surfaces in mixed media; his embrace of the rebel and the irreverent and his devotion to beauty\, make him an important artist for our\ntimes\, distinguishing his work as uniquely collectible. His photo-realistic\, pop art/propaganda\, anime-flavored pieces convey terror\, hope\, defiance\, whimsy and awe.\n\nThe closing reception for Bryce Chisholm is on Thursday September 26 from 5 – 7pm which coincides with the first night of the 2024 Carson City Music & Murals Festival.
