DESCRIPTION:Visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy live music and see artists create new\, vibrant public murals across Nevada’s capital city. \n\nThe Brewery Arts Center’s 4th annual Carson City Murals & Music Festival will bring live musical performances and new\, colorful murals to Carson City\, Nevada starting Tuesday\, September 15th through Saturday\, September 19th 2026. \n\n\nLocal\, national and international artists will create murals in public spaces around Carson City. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet artists as they create their murals over the course of the  festival. \nSchedule of Events: \nTuesday\, September 15th\, 6pm\, FREE – Join artist Rafael Blanco for his artist talk Ditching The Studio to learn about his life shaping journey into public art in our Exhibition Hall. \nWednesday\, September 16th\, 6pm\, FREE – Enjoy music from Luca (Rome) and Jimmy (USA) and meet the muralists during the festival’s Welcoming Reception in our Exhibition Hall.  \nThursday\, September 17th\, 6pm\, FREE – Join muralists Jokin & Lara (Spain) for their workshop Community Collage and help create a piece that will be incorporated into their mural. Supplies provided. Workshop is in our Painting Studio.  \nFriday\, September 18th\, 7pm\, $25 – Loud As Folk proudly presents an intimate evening of live music featuring Taylor Kingman with special guest Stoneteeth. Get tickets HERE! \nSaturday\, September 19th\, 10:30am & 4pm\, FREE – Docent led mural tours. Meet some of the artists along the way and learn more about their work. \nSaturday\, September 19th\, 7pm\, FREE – Carson City Classic Cinema Collective hosts a free screening of Exit Through The Gift Shop\, a documentary showcasing the career and work of artist Banksy\, one of the most revered muralists of the modern day.

SUMMARY:Murals & Music Festival | C5 presents:  Exit Through the Gift Shop | FREE | Saturday | September 19th 2026
DESCRIPTION:Exit Through the Gift Shop is a 2010 British documentary film directed by street artist Banksy. It tells the story of Thierry Guetta\, a French immigrant in Los Angeles who\, over several years\, filmed a host of street artists at work\, including Shepard Fairey and Banksy\, but failed to do anything with the footage. Eventually\, Banksy decided to use the footage to make a documentary\, which includes new footage depicting Guetta’s rise to fame as the artist “Mr. Brainwash”. In addition to narration read by Rhys Ifans\, the story is largely related by Banksy himself\, whose face is obscured and voice altered to preserve his anonymity. Geoff Barrow composed the film’s score\, and Richard Hawley’s “Tonight The Streets Are Ours” plays during the opening and closing credits. The film premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival on 24 January 2010\, and was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 83rd Academy Awards. \nSince its release\, there has been extensive debate over whether the film is a genuine documentary or a mockumentary. When asked if the film was real\, Banksy simply replied\, “Yes.”
