Sinkane, the Sudanese-American musician and band, is led by Ahmed Gallab. He blends Sudanese pop with krautrock, prog rock, electronica, free jazz, and funk rock. Gallab, born in London to Sudanese parents, lived in Sudan, and moved to the US at a young age, eventually settling in New York City. Before his solo career, he worked as a session musician with artists like Eleanor Friedberger, Caribou, and of Montreal.
