Carson City Historical Society is proud to present a lecture featuring Jed Block, a dedicated historian and Carson City native with over two decades of experience researching and documenting our city’s rich past. A well-known expert in the Capital City’s history, Block is passionate about sharing its stories to inspire a greater appreciation for historic preservation. He currently serves on the Carson City Historic Resources Commission, where he previously held the position of Chairman. His extensive collection of historic photographs and research has made his “Carson City: Then & Now” series a local favorite, offering a glimpse into the city’s lost landmarks and evolving landscape. Block’s journey into history began over 20 years ago while researching a redevelopment project, sparking a lifelong commitment to preserving and educating others about Carson City’s heritage. Through his work, he hopes to encourage awareness and advocacy for the city’s remaining historical treasures.
