Enjoy a casual atmosphere, original dance, live music, and a beer and a brat to boot!
Sierra Nevada Ballet partners with the Brewery Arts Center, the Reno Little Theater, and Steinway Piano Gallery to produce an exciting program that has become a signature SNB annual tradition. Brew, Brats and Ballet – A Celebration of New Choreography features brand new short choreographic works by local and out of state artists. Brew, Brats and Ballet offers audiences a chance to sample some local brews and sausages from Hot Rods Catering (*not included in ticket price) while enjoying new eclectic choreographic offerings from eight different choreographers. This program features new works by Barbara Land (former Head of UNR Dance Program), Jennifer August (former Artistic Director of Black Rock Dance Company), Alexander Biber (former Sacramento
Ballet), Oliver Adams (former Sacramento Ballet and Smuin Ballet), Sara Weir ( SNB Principal Dancer) and Anthony McMenamy (SNB Soloist dancer), Ananda Bena-Weber (SNB Principal Dancer and Associate Director) SNB Artistic Director, Rosine Bena and live music by two different musicians from Steinway Piano Gallery.
Audience members will have the opportunity of hearing (first hand and-up close and personal) from each choreographer about their creative process and then be entertained by the dancers of Sierra Nevada Ballet as they perform each new choreographic work. The program will finish up with a relaxed informal question and answer discussion interaction between choreographers and audience members.
