Violinists Laurentiu Norocel and Claire Tatman collaborate with Reno’s own master violin maker, Tim Dodd, in a reprise their August 2023 event. A combination concert and informal discussion will take place as well as a demonstration of the “anatomy” and function of violins. This concert will feature violin solos and duets played by the artists using violins made by Mr. Dodd.
In between performances by Mr. Norocel and Ms. Tatman showcasing different styles of violin music, Mr. Dodd will describe the construction of a violin and how a violin produces sound illustrated with “deconstructed violins” and violin parts.
