In a country of immigrants, what’s wrong with the immigration system?
Carson City, NV — The Sierra Nevada Forums, in partnership with the AAUW Capital Branch and League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada will host “Immigration: Pathways, Barriers and Myths” a panel discussion on Wednesday March 11 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W King St in Carson City. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the program starts at 6 pm. The Nevada Appeal and KUNR are the media co-sponsors. This is the sixth forum of the eleventh season of free community forums on topics of current interest.
The forum will be moderated by Lucia Starbuck of KUNR Public Radio. Panelists include Professor Michael Kagan, the director of the UNLV Immigration Clinic at the William S Boyd School of Law; Athar Haseebullah, executive director of the ACLU Nevada; Cristian Gonzalez Perez, a supervising attorney at Make the Road Nevada; and Assemblymember Duy Nguyen, chief operating officer and vice president of the Asian Community Development Council.
