Pottery Classes at the Brewery Arts Center

Combining one of the most ancient arts with modern techniques and materials, pottery classes at the Brewery Arts Center are "get-your-hands-dirty, make-something-unique, have-loads-of-fun" times for artists.

Beginning/Intermediate Adult Pottery

Beginning/Intermediate Adult Pottery -- Winter 2017 - Students will receive an introduction to clay from hand-building to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Additionally, instruction will include design and decoration using glaze and underglaze. Intermediate students will receive instruction in more difficult wheel throwing techniques A supply fee of $15 will be collected by instructor at the first class. Please bring towel &/or apron & wear closed toe shoes.

Tuition: $110 per four-week session/$100 for BAC members

Open Studio Pottery

With Kim Maehl

Open Studio Pottery is for experienced students who have previously enrolled in at least one beginning pottery class and who want to use the studio for independent projects and skill development. An instructor is present to assist and answer questions, but no formal instruction or assignments will be given. Glazes and firing are included in tuition. Students must purchase their own clay in the studio.

Ceramic Sculpting

This fun and exciting class is designed for beginning as well as more experienced students. You will learn techniques in creating non-functional ceramics as you learn to use clay to build artistic sculptures. Projects will include instruction in a wide range of sculpting methods. You will be exposed to concepts such as composition, weight, color, form, and texture while creating contemporary pieces and beautiful three dimensional ceramic art.

Students will need to bring a towel. The supply fee covers clay, glazes, firing, and everything else you will need to complete multiple projects.

Mondays 1:00 - 4:00 (8 weeks)
Tuition $215 non members/$195 members (+$25 supply to be paid the first day of class)
