Levitt AMP Carson City Grant Award
Carson City via the Brewery Arts Center has won a Levitt Amp award to bring a 10-week live music series to Carson City during the Summer of 2016. Sponsored by Levitt Pavilions, the national nonprofit behind the largest free concert series in America, the Brewery Arts Center is one of 15 winning organizations.
The Levitt AMP Carson City Grant Award is an exciting matching grant opportunity created by Levitt Pavilions to serve small to mid-sized towns and cities up to 400,000 people. Fifteen nonprofits, or municipalities partnering with a nonprofit, received up to $25,000 each in matching funds to produce their own Levitt AMP Music Series—an outdoor, free concert series featuring a diverse lineup of professional musicians.
The successful campaign for Brewery Arts Center depended on community participation to get as many online votes as possible to bring the concert series to town. Levitt Pavilions reviewed the proposals of the top 25 vote-getting communities to determine the 15 Levitt AMP awards.
“The Levitt Amp Carson City Music Series is a major victory for Carson City. Everyone in Carson City will have access to barrier free live music. This funding will allow us to bring in major touring acts as well as always be a home for our local and regional performers” says Executive Director Gina Lopez Hill. “This community is completely amazing, and this award confirms that fact to the whole country. We rallied together.”
