A grant of $1000
Supports our Art in the Park program
This program removes all barriers for participation in the arts and takes place at Park Terrace Park which is directly adjacent to Empire Elementary School, a school with 100% of its population eligible for free or reduced lunch and is a neighborhood with a largely Hispanic population. BAC brings tables, equipment and art supplies each day to create a “pop up” art center free of charge and open to any youth who would like to participate. Each child gets to work on a new project each day that they create and take home. Every project focuses on a new skill and learning objective. We estimate we work with 70-100 youth per day.

Buys an new instrument for our Harmony Sculpture Park
The Harmony Sculpture Park currently sits in the courtyard of the Brewery Arts Center’s campus and has been used on a daily basis by people of all ages since the first instruments were installed in October of 2016. This very special musical instrument park is accessible to people of all abilities with wheelchair access to every instrument. The Harmony Sculpture Park sits directly across the street from the Historic Blue Line walking tour in Carson City and in between two of the murals at the Brewery Arts Center, right in the heart of the two block arts campus. Our goal is to expand this park with new and exciting instruments for all to enjoy.

Supports our Levitt AMP Carson City Free Summer Concert Series
Levitt AMP Carson City is a program from the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation who’s goal is to build the social fabric of America through the power of free, live music. For three consecutive years the Levitt Foundation has awarded $25,000 in seed money for a free summer concert series. This series has changed the very essence of the arts in Carson City, offering everyone family friendly, barrier free way to build community while enjoying high caliber touring artists. This series has become the cornerstone of our programming and has catapulted us as on a National level as we use the arts as an effective placemaking tool for the community.
A grant of $10,000
Upgrades our current lighting system to LED’s
This gift would fundamentally improve everything we do at the BAC and would be a cost saving measure for our vast facilities.
We currently are using classic par lighting for our theaters and amphitheater which is quickly becoming outdated considering the energy efficiency and versatility of LEDs. Transitioning to a LED system would be beneficial for the over 100 theatrical and music events we do each year and over 25,000 audience members we serve.
Our current funding priorities are:
1. Upgrading to LED lighting
2. Support of the Levitt AMP Carson City Concert Series
3. Supporting Art in the Park
