The BAC regrets to inform its patrons that the New Shanghai Circus,
upon their own initiative, have decided to cancel both their performances
scheduled for January 31st. This includes the lecture-demonstration at 4:00pm
and the public performance at 7:30pm.
The Circus has indicated their decision was predicated on a
“lack of community interest and limited advance ticket sales.”

All credit card purchases will be automatically reversed.
If you purchased tickets with cash or check for this event,
please arrange for a full refund by contacting the BAC at 775-883-1976,
or visit our administrative office at 449 West King Street in Carson City.
Please have your tickets and identification with you for processing.
Refund checks will be issued and mailed to your personal address.

On February 4, enjoy the vocal and guitar playing talents of Tyler Stafford from noon to 5pm. The Reno native has been impressing audiences with his smooth voice and guitar playing talent.  Stafford will perform songs from his newly released album “On a String”. The Reno Gazette Journal named it one of the 10 best albums released by area artists this year.

While sampling the wines and listening to Stafford be sure to take a look at the new artwork on display (and for sale) in a new exhibit, All You Need is Love. Just in time for Valentine’s Day of course.

Come, enjoy an afternoon of wine, art and music in the Brewery Arts Center’s Artisans Store.  Resident artists and teachers will demonstrate their crafts as part of the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk. Sip wine and nibble hors d’oeuvres while watching the artisans create new works of art.

You don’t need to take part in the Wine Walk to join in.

The Brewery Arts Center offers dozens of classes this year. The always popular classes such as  Pottery, Painting, Drawing and Jewelry Making are great. Classes in Sculpting and Silk painting are also being offered in 2012. Try the Art of Zentangle, a class of 11 students just completed the class and all were very happy with what they Created Together!

Dance classes include  Folklorico and Ballroom.

The BAC also has classes just for kids including the always popular After School Art as well as Pottery for Kids and theatre classes that start Jan 30.

Students can study media arts in the BAC’s Digital Media Center. Courses include Editing with Final Cut Pro and Claymation.

Russell Moore forme IIIrd Time Out in 1991 and since then released more than a dozen albums, garnered more than 50 industry awards and performed numerous times at the Grand Ole Opry. Hot off their New Year’s Eve weekend performance at the Grand Ole Opry the band members are headed west and bringing their superb musicianship to Carson City.
The band’s a cappella renditions of many songs can rarely be matched and their superb instrumentation provides even more quality sound to their rich vocal blend featuring one of the most

Men of Worth

The Brewery Arts Center is the place to be St. Patrick’s Day weekend when a bit of Ireland and Scotland come to town. The folk duo Men of Worth will bring Celtic music to life in the Performance Hall on Friday, March 16th at 8pm.

Scotsman Donnie Macdonald and Irishman James Keigher blend music and storytelling to take audiences on journey to their homelands. The self described Extreme Traditional Celtic Musicians have preserved the emotion and tradition of their homeland songs while at the same time telling new stories.

Together Men of Worth blend their voices with their varied selection of instruments. They have a very simple approach to their performances, and in keeping with tradition, remain true to the music and story. Their show is a unique combination of humor, exciting tunes, and soulful, heartfelt ballads.

Men of Worth’s tunes and songs are so authentic, so closely connected to their heritage, that Scotsman Donnie Macdonald sings some in his native Gaelic; while Irishman James Keigher includes time-polished pieces saved from the oral traditions of his native County Mayo.

They have played concerts across the US, from Alaska to Texas. They also take guided tours to their own musical roots: leading folk fans to the western isles of Scotland and to Ireland’s heartland to hear the real music of the isles in its own home.
