About BAC Stage Kids
BAC Stage Kids is the award-winning resident children’s theatre company at the BAC.
Our Mission
To provide a safe, professional and fun environment for local children to explore, create and learn through the art of theatre and provide a strong theatrical education to prepare them for advancement in the field.
Our Vision
The BAC Stage Kids program has been developed into a formal year-round children’s theatre program at the Brewery Arts Center, in which children are taught the basics and as their skills progress, more advanced techniques of theatre, music, movement and technical theatre in a more organized, formal setting. This program provides a safe, professional environment for dedicated children to explore, create and learn through theatre.
It offers compensation for the decreasing arts programs in schools, and gives children the proper exposure and training needed before moving into high school and community programs. Children participating in this program gain an increased appreciation and respect for the art and work that goes into theatre, and hopefully, a desire to continue in programs at the Brewery Arts Center and throughout the community. Their involvement increases their skills both onstage and off. This program offers a structured curriculum, and includes instruction in acting, music, voice, theatre technology, theatre appreciation and etiquette, as well as creates opportunities for children to perform in several full-blown theatrical productions, workshops and camps throughout the year. Providing children with a solid foundation in these fundamentals will not only increase the quality of children’s theatre in the area, but will also increase the quality of Carson City’s high school and community theatre once these students reach those levels.
Our Values
The BAC Stage Kids program operates based on a set of values, including but not limited to:
